<p>500 grams salted cod fish</p>
<p>1 onion</p>
<p>400 grams potatoes</p>
<p>80 grams butter</p>
<p>1 egg</p>
<p>breadcrumbs as needed</p>

<p>Keep the salted cod for 24-48 hours in cold wtaer (keep refirgerated). Rinse and change the water every 8 hours.</p>

<p>Put the cod into a casserole covered with cold water and bring the water to a boil. As soon as the water boils, retain from fire and drain. Cool down.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, cook the potatoes and dice them. Set aside.</p>

<p>Slice finely the onions and cook them gently with one tbs of butter in a pan, until translucent.</p>

<p>Once cold, clean the skin and bones from the cod and break it into flakes in a container.</p>

<p>800 gr baccalà già ravvivato in acqua per 24h / <i>800 gr salted cod fish (left in water overnight)</i></p>
<p>400 gr pomodoro / <i>400 gr tomato sauce</i></p>
<p>2 spicchi d’aglio / <i>2 garlic cloves</i></p>
<p>50 gr di farina / <i>50 gr flour</i></p>
<p>10 gr basilico / <i>10 gr fresh basil leaves</i></p>
<p>Sale e pepe / <i>salt and pepper</i></p>
<p>1 cucchiaino di zucchero / <i>1 teaspoon sugar</i></p>
<p>Olio d’oliva / <i>5 tbs olive oil</i></p>

<p>Scaldare l’olio in una padella. Per preparare il baccalà alla livornese, infarinare il baccalà e soffriggerlo nell’olio.</p>

<p>Togliere il baccalà dalla padella e mettere nello stesso olio di cottura l’aglio. Soffriggere.</p>

<p>Unire la passata di pomodoro. Salare, pepare e unire un cucchiaino di zucchero. Sobobllire per 10 minuti. Unire il basilico.</p>
