<h2>Red Wine Stew</h2>

<p>800 gr di spezzatino (meglio se da cappello del prete) / <em>beef cut in cubes</em></p>
<p>1 lt vino rosso / <em>red</em> <em>wine</em></p>
<p>1 cipolla grande / <em>big</em> <em>onion</em></p>
<p>4 carote / <em>carrots</em></p>
<p>1 spicchio d’aglio / <em>clove of garlic</em></p>
<p>2 foglie di alloro / <em>leaves of laurel</em></p>
<p>20 chiodi di garofano / <em>20 cloves</em></p>
<p>1 cucchiaio di timo /<em> tablespoon thyme</em></p>
<p>1 cucchiaino di sale grosso / <em>salt</em></p>
<p>Olio d’oliva / <em>olive oil</em></p>
<p>1 dado / <em>stock cube</em></p>
<p>Pulire la cipolla e steccarla con i chiodi di garofano. Tagliare le carote a rondelle.</p>
<p>In un recipiente unire tutti gli ingredienti (tranne il dado e l’olio) e coprire con il vino rosso. Lasciare riposar eper una notte intera.</p>
<p><em>Peel the onion and stick into it the cloves as shown in the picture. Cross cut the carrots into  slices of 3-4 mm each. Put all ingredients (exlcluding the stock cube and the olive oil) in a container and cover with the red wine. Put into the fridge overnight.</em></p>

<p>Il giorno dopo separare le verdure dalla carne e trattenere il liquido.</p>
<p><em>The following day spearate vegetables from the meat and retain the wine.</em></p>
<p>Togliere i chiodi di garofano dalle cipolle tritarle grossolanamente e soffriggerle con dell’olio. Unire le carote e cuocere per 10 minuti a fuoco medio. Unire la carne e rosolarla, quando inizia ad asciugare unire mezzo bicchiere del vino trattenuto.</p>
<p><em>Take away the cloves from the onion and chop it. Fry them into a casserole. Add the carrots and cook for 10 minutes at medium heat. Add the meat and fry it until the liquid is gone. Add half glass of the wine you retained. </em></p>

<p>Fare evaporare benissimo. Una volta evaporato unire il resto del vino, coprire e cuocere per 1,5/2 ore a fuoco medio-basso, girando di tanto in tanto. Unire il dado Se si dovesse asciugare troppo unite dell’acqua. Spegnere e servire dopo una decina di minuti.</p>
<p><em>Evaporate. And then add the remaining wine, cover with a lid and let simmer at low heat for 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. If it gets too dry add some water. Take away from fire and serve 10 minutes later.</em></p>
